Alimar also offers a MVME
repair program. Boards that are deemed defective for a variety of
reasons can be tested and troubleshoot on a per board, or contract
basis. Currently we have had a 95% success rate in repairing MVME boards including the
MVME6100, MVME6110, MVME5100, MVME5110
MVME2604, MVME147, MVME162 & MVME167
series product.
Basic fees do apply to the process:
Generally a bench fee is charged
regardless of the work performed. If the board is un-repairable you are
only charged the bench fee. If the board is indeed repairable the bench
fee is waived and you will be charged according to the work that has
been performed.
There are certain boards that do have
a set price. We have a 'mean' price policy and each client knows prior to worked being performed what their cost is going to be.
There are no hidden charges, as we strive to have a transparent process.
The diagnostic process generally takes
24-48 hours to complete. Basic repairs with in-house parts are returned
in 1-2 weeks after receipt of the product. Parts that we do not have in
stock come from AS5553 compliant sources, and these repairs can take
between 3-4 weeks depending on complexity. Our VME repair staff take
great pride in the efficiency and try to have most parts available in
stock.
All service components are
purchased under a Lockheed Martin reviewed AS5553 Counterfeit Avoidance
& Detection plan. As a critical parts supplier to Lockheed Martin, we
are certified as AS5553 compliant for spare parts and repair services.
This affirms that all components are purchased through reputable,
stringently monitored sources, ensuring your security & system
reliability.
We have on occasion had to rework
boards that had been 'repaired' by others and the people who perform our
repairs take great personal pride in their abilities, which enable us to
return boards in a equivalent to new condition.
Such repairs a conducted in a clean
room environment with the highest standards of ESD protection available.

-Remove and replace most components including SMT, Through-Hole and
Press Fit connectors.
-X-Ray and video microscope equipment for inspection and failure
analysis.
-Dage XD6500 X-Ray.
-Hirox video inspection microscope with BGA lens.
-Lead-free and tin/lead processing.
-Remove and replace a BGA with a new part.
-Remove, re-ball and replace BGAs due to wrong polarity or
bad connections.
-Remove a BGA, modify board circuitry to add, change or
delete connections, re-ball and replace the BGA.
-Recover high value components (BGAs, QFPs, connectors,
etc.) from scrap boards and refurbish for use in assembly or
rework.
-BGA reballing services.
-Convert between lead-free and tin/lead.
-Recover valuable parts for rework or assembly
operations.

Motorola's line of VMEbus
products using PowerPC® architecture-compatible processors
expands the boundaries for functionality and performance in the
VMEbus market. What differentiates this product family is our
PowerPlus Architecture. Based on in-house application specific
integrated circuits (ASICs) designed for exclusive use in our
products, our boards offer unprecedented levels of system
performance. This is accomplished by addressing three critical
areas: optimizing processor and cache performance, minimizing
memory bottlenecks and optimizing system I/O throughput.
